bringing balance back
I am a 500 hour Registered Yoga Teacher and a meditation enthusiast.
I was first intrigued by meditation after reading "Eat, Pray, Love" (totally cliche, I know). But it left me wanting to know more, which is what led me to the teachings of Thich Naht Hahn. When I started learning about mindfulness I loved the concept but the execution seemed to be SO DIFFICULT! I thought thinking all the time was what we were supposed to do with our brains. I kept my mind occupied with a bunch of crap just to keep myself from being "bored" in the present moment. Then I read
"The Power of Now" by Eckhart Tolle and BOOM, my life started changing.
I understood that I needed to make meditation a priority in my life so that living in the moment would become my natural way of being. I signed up for a meditation course at my yoga studio. I made a meditation space in my home. I set my alarm clock 15 minutes earlier. I started my meditation habit. In 2014, I completed a three-week intensive yoga teacher training at Fish Tree Yoga . I studied ballet and various forms of dance for almost 20 years before discovering yoga; I taught dance for years so teaching yoga felt like a natural transition. Teaching yoga also became a creative avenue for me to help people in my community heal themselves. In the summer of 2015, I got the awesome opportunity to record a couple of meditations for The Morning Stir Podcast. I loved it and I realized I could reach so many people by posting meditations online. Which brings us here- to this site, to my YouTube Channel. It is my intent to teach you how you can incorporate meditation into your life and give you guidance throughout your journey with my recorded meditations.
